Alamo Drafthouse in Chandler is more than just a typical movie theater. It’s a theater that really cares about providing moviegoers with the best experience possible.
They accomplish this by having a full kitchen so you can order food and drinks that are delivered straight to your seat, as well as having rules to ensure that everyone can watch movies without interruptions.
This particular location opened in December 2016, although there is also a location in Tempe and many more in cities across the country. The theater has nine screens and more than 950 seats, as well as a unique atmosphere and decorations that set it apart from a traditional movie theater.
All seats at the Alamo Drafthouse are reserved, so you don’t have to worry about arriving early to find a good spot. You can either purchase tickets in advance on their website or when you arrive. But keep in mind that the theater does have a strict late policy, so it’s recommended that you get there with time to spare, even if you did purchase a ticket ahead of time.
If you get there early, you can always hang out at the bar in the lobby or watch their custom preshows, which are shown instead of paid advertisements.
Once you get to your seat, you’ll have a chance to look over the menu and decide what to order. Be sure to come hungry because there’s a lot to choose from!
The menu offers popcorn, the classic movie snack, but that’s just the beginning of the wide range of food they serve. They have salads, pizzas, hot dogs, sandwiches, and other entrees like hatch green chile mac and cheese. Anyone watching a movie that starts before 2:00 p.m. can even enjoy brunch, such as a fried egg BLT.
If you already ate and would rather stick to drinks, they have more than 30 beers on tap, handcrafted cocktails, and even adult milkshakes (and of course non-alcoholic options too). Their menu states that they use local vendors like Four Peaks, Huss Brewing, and SanTan.
It’s a lot of fun to eat a delicious meal or enjoy a drink while watching the latest movies, and it’s really convenient that everything is brought straight to you. If you’re worried that it might be distracting to have someone walking around grabbing orders or delivering food, it really isn’t. The servers are quick and quiet, so you hardly even notice that they’re there.
On top of that, Alamo Drafthouse truly cares about being respectful during movies. They have zero tolerance for using phones or talking, and they won’t allow you to enter the theater if you arrive after the movie has started.
This is the place to go if you want an unbeatable movie experience. The next time you’re looking for something fun to do in Chandler, be sure to check out Alamo Drafthouse!
